Our first vlog of 2023 brings some very exciting news of upcoming events happening this year! First we start with some of our staff sharing their New Year’s resolutions (or lack of), whilst a team of HatHats volunteers gather at Head Office for a meeting in regards to travelling to Africa in October to teach hospitality skills to students at Uganda’s first vocational school so that they can meet the demands of rising number of Western tourists. Off the back of this, some of the volunteers have embarked on training to ride 100 miles in one day to fundraise towards the trip and to fund the building of a bore hole to supply water to villages. Kara gets excited when our first bus shelter poster appears at a bus stop in Whitstable - exciting times for the marketing team! Although Kara’s not so enthusiastic when it comes to the admin side of life as we’ll be exploring the events industry more this year with our Hattie Van and events trailer after Faversham Hop Festival and Quex Fireworks were an absolute success last year (check out vlogs 25 and 29 to see us at these events!). With new sites on the HatHats horizon, Phil delivers the news that he’ll be leaving the Herne Bay Station team to manage one of the new sites - congratulations Phil!
